Developing solutions for the boat usage issue has been a controversial process. The Lake Minnetonka Conservation District, which regulates boat storage and docking, has conflicted, outdated or subjective policies that do not adequately address this issue.

Lake Minnetonka Association’s position is that a clear, credible and concise boat density policy be implemented for Lake Minnetonka. This policy must address the increased lakeshore density while preserving the rights of lakeshore residents.
