The Lake Minnetonka Association keeps abreast of emerging issues of relevance to Lake Minnetonka. Issues we are watching closely include:

- Hydrilla, an exotic plant like Eurasian watermilfoil, has been discovered in a Wisconsin lake. Hydrilla is more aggressive and more invasive than milfoil. Hydrilla has been described as “the perfect weed.” Hydrilla is so aggressive, it has been known to displace milfoil.
- Other exotic, invasive species (link to that page)
- Proposed DNR dock restrictions.
- The impacts of the constitutional amendment approved in 2008.
