Bob Humphrey was born in Minneapolis in 1944 and is now retired from 30 years of public service and community development activities with the City of Minneapolis. My primary responsibilities with the city focused on marketing, real estate and business development. Following high school graduation from Shattuck Military Academy and receiving a B.A. degree in Business Administration and Economics from Mankato State University, I owned and managed three small businesses. As a retiree, I continue to manage my real estate and other investments. Currently, I am an active member of the Excelsior Rotary Club.

I was fortunate to have lived an exhilarating life of exceptional experiences as the son of a Minneapolis mayor, U.S. Senator, and Vice President of the United States. At the age of four our family moved to Chevy Chase Maryland, just 10 miles from the U.S. Capital and the White House where I observed and learned a lot about our country. I have participated in local and national campaigns including my father's run for U.S. President in 1968 when I traveled thousands of miles meeting people from all walks of life, and experiencing everlasting memories about our great country.

“Two months ago I was introduced to the Lake Minnetonka Association by Bob Pillsbury, also a new board member. Having lived on Lake Minnetonka for over 30 years as an avid boater, I am interested in preserving one of Minnesota's greatest treasures. I am hopeful that by my participating in this worthy organization I can pass on to my children and to future generations this exceptional amenity for all to enjoy. Living most of my life here in Minnesota, on this fabulous lake, has been our greatest joy.”
